How to use SSOverlay to configure a specific colour overlay
The College recognises that each user of IT has specific requirements and tries to provide a number of options recommended to us by JISC in order to help.
One such option is a product called SSOverlay, SSOverlay enables the user to specify a custom tint over the desktop and applications, the user can configure custom colour options tailored to their specific requirements.
SSOverlay is installed on all College computers and can be accessed via the desktop icon provided, if however, the icon is not present or the software does not work, please contact E-Services.
Note: if you're wanting to use this software at home, a zipped copy can be downloaded and extracted to a USB stick or to your desktop and run.
As soon as it loads, it will be set to the last used colour selection, you can change this by Right Mouse Clicking on the small icon (highlighted) in the task tray near the clock.
You should be prompted with a dialogue where you can select Settings (highlighted).
You can now choose from a list or provided colours (1) and select the transparency strength using the slider (2).
You should see the effect of your setup immediately, once you're satisfied with your setup, click ok to close the settings dialogue.
