Student laptop setup guide (NWSLC)
You will need to perform some initial steps to get things up and running, including connecting to the internet which is essential to complete the provisioning process.
On first boot you will need to select the region (United Kingdom)
Followed by the keyboard layout (United Kingdom)
Then the option to add a second keyboard, click Skip.
Now it is time to connect to the internet. Find your wireless network in the list and select the Connect button. You may also connect an ethernet cable as an alternative.
You will not be able to proceed until you are successfully connected.
At this stage, the device will go through some initial setup before rebooting and taking you to the Welcome to NWSLC | MAT login page.

When you arrive at the desktop there will be an absence of applications, this is by design. The software assigned to you will begin to install automatically in the background. This process will take several minutes depending on the speed of your internet connection.

Once you see Microsoft Outlook available on the Start Menu
you may restart the computer to complete the setup of Microsoft Teams which will now automatically load each time you log on. If you close it accidentally, you will find it located on the desktop. For information regarding the usage of Teams please speak to your tutor.
To browse the internet, Microsoft Edge is accessible on the Start Menu.
There is no requirement to log in for Office 365 related services but for general browsing you will be prompted for a username and password.
This is your network username and password, the one used to log into the College computers. This is to ensure your session is logged and appropriately filtered.
Username: studentid
Followed by your password.
